May Favorites

  • Born This Way Foundation – I raved about this foundation here but basically it’s a full coverage foundation that I only use for light coverage when applied with a damp beauty sponge. Love it!
  • Brow Gel – This has quickly become one of my everyday staples. It holds my brows in place all day and even makes my liner stay in place for longer!
  • The Cruelest Month by Louise Penny – The third book in this mystery series that follows a quaint town and the strange murders that occur there. You can read these out of order too!
  • Bombay Hair Curler – I wanted to buy a curler with a larger barrel for some more voluminous, rounded curls this Summer and this bad boy gets the job done!
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Highlighter – This has been my go-to highlight for Spring. It’s subtle but still gorgeous.
  • Paul Mitchell Blonde Platinum Shampoo – I also raved about this product here but after receiving a compliment today about how great my color looked I could not rave about this product more. Big winner for my blonde girls out there that fear brassiness as much as I do.

April Favorites

April was definitely a much more enjoyable and relaxing month than either February or March had been so I my anxiety levels are finally back to normal 🙂 Of course I definitely could’ve done with a little less rain..

  • The Great British Bake Off – I don’t know how I haven’t seen this show before but my roommate and I absolutely blew through the first season on Netflix. It’s not your traditional high-intensity, everyone’s out to get eachother competition show. It’s a relaxing baking contest where one person is eliminated each week and you occasionally get to hear Mary Berry say “scrummy” which is my absolute favorite.
  • A Fatal Grace – The second in the Inspector Gamache series of mysteries. I read the first book but you can start with any book in the series (which is what my mom did). It’s a great bed time read but is also a page-turner.
  • Mimosas for the Mr. & Mrs – This is a gorgeous ligh baby pink shade that is a little more pink than my tried and true Urban Jungle and is absolutely perfect for Spring.
  • Adidas Supernova Sneakers – After over a year of running in my old sneaks I picked up a new pair. They took a little breaking in at first but I’m right back to my normal stride now 🙂 These are great for people who need a little more cushioning than what Nike shoes provide.
  • The Head & The Heart – Everytime I put my Pandora Thumbprint station on I’m pleasantly surprised with one of their tunes. They’re beautiful, epic songs that range from happy to melancholy and have gripping melodies.
  • ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in La La – My Spring time looks include a lot more pink and this goldeny/rose gold shade is gorgeous all over the lid.
  • Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Porcelain– This is my first foundation favorite EVER! I had never worn foundation before and so I tried out a bunch last month to see which one worked best for me and this was the winner. It doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything and is still full-coverage (even though I apply it with a wet beauty sponge for a more sheered out look). Love this stuff!

March Favorites

  • The Iron Fist – A Marvel world “super hero” returns to Manhattan after 15 years of presumably being dead with some seriously kick a** skills and a weirdly strong fist. Not the best script, but still entertaining nonetheless
  • Divide by Ed Sheeran – Ed Sheeran is one of my favorite artists and his new album has some great hits. My favorites are Happier and Perfect.
  • Still Life by Louise Penny – A murder occurs in the seemingly quiet town of Three Pines and inspector Gamache is called to the scene to solve the mystery. A great series recommendation from my mom!
  • EOS ball – I wrote about this guy here
  • Utah – I absolutely loved my time in Utah just over a week ago and am now dying to go back to ski more.

February Favorites

  • Parks and Rec – This show instantly puts me in a better mood. I had never really gotten into it before I started watching a couple of episodes at a time and now I get the hype.
  • Logic Puzzle Book – I purchased this book on the way back from NYC and if you’re someone who loves logic puzzles, you’ll love this. If not, you’ll probably hate it.
  • Lorac Pro 3 – I got this palette for Christmas and it has quickly become my go-to for night out looks. It has beautiful warm shades that are super pigmented and last for hours.
  • First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream– This stuff saved my skin this winter. If you want to hear more about it, click here.

January Favorites

My goodness it’s almost February. Which means that’s we’re almost 1/12 of the way through 2017. Which means time is going by more quickly every year and I’m getting old. But regardless, I still have favorites that mostly focus around eating, drinking tea, and watching Netflix while I crochet. Jeez I am getting old..

  • Headspace – As you may or may not know, learning how to meditate is one of my new years resolutions. So the first step in getting there was downloading this app. I’m currently 8 sessions in and am still figuring out if it helps me relax or just makes me tired..
  • Chai Tea Latte – I’ve been treating myself to these at work nearly every day. So does that count as treating myself or is this just a new routine?
  • Ghirradeli Milk and Caramel Chocolate Squares – I brought some of these home with me from my parent’s house and for someone who doesn’t like chocolates all that much, I got through these pretty quickly. And purchased a new bag very soon there after.
  • Sherlock – This is my new obsession. If you liked the show House you would love this because it’s basically a good cop / bad cop mystery that is incredibly witty and addicting.
  • Michael Kors Bag – This was my big Christmas gift and I am so incredibly glad I chose it. There is a place for everything and for the first time, I can actually fit a water bottle in my bag for my perpetual thirst.
  • Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – This basically is exactly the same as a beauty blender, but bigger. It still has a pointed edge to get into the crevices but I honestly love this tool.
