Growing up I would consider myself a tomboy. This could be attributed to the fact that I wore my older brother’s hand-me-down’s for years (I’m talking reptile laden shirts galore), but even after I was old enough to start wearing more girly clothing, I was always more drawn to the more masculine pieces. And although my style has definitely evolved over the years and I my looks have become more sophisticated, I’m still drawn to certain pieces that are typically much more masculine. I adore the juxtaposition of feminine and masculine and honestly find the idea of dressing in clothes that were up until recently considered menswear quite empowering. Think of how far women have come from the days when women working in an office were forced to wear skirts and heels!
I digress… One of the latest trends in women’s wear is structured, checked blazers. I’m not talking about those figure hugging ones that you feel like you have to unbutton the second you sit down or eat a meal.
