My Newest Craze: Spot Moisturizing

You may have heard of the trend that took skincare by storm, multi masking. But I’ve come up with my own skincare regime that has truly made my Summer skin feel better than ever: spot moisturizing. And while this isn’t technically a thing, I’m making it one. Here’s how it works:

  1. Apply a serum to the tops of my cheekbones, massaging it in there first before moving the access to the rest of my face.
  2. Wait a minute or two for the serum to sink in and then apply a light moisturizing cream or lotion all over the rest of my face.
  3. Apply a thick cream moisturizer to the dry spots on my face for extra moisture. This is the SPOT moisturizing portion of my routine.

I’ve found that during the Winter my entire face loved being lathered in a thick cream to retain moisture. During the Summer, however, I really only need this intense moisture in certain points of my face (cheekbones, in-between eyebrows, and tip of my nose). Since starting this routine I have noticed that my skin feels sooo much smoother and makeup doesn’t cling to these dry patches any more! If you’re having issues with dry patches, I would definitely give this method a go and let me know how it works for you!

  1. Thanks for sharing 🙂 I think I’ll try this method because I feel like not every area of my face needs the same amount of moisture.

  2. Love this! I have oily skin and today I just realized that the back of my cheeks are pretty dry so I told myself I need to add more moisture just in that area. Definitely will be trying spot moisturizing!
