What my Birthday (supposedly) says About Me

I love a good personality quiz or horoscope. Whether I believe what they tell me at the end, however, is another story. The one test I’ve taken that I actually though my results were pretty spot on with was the Myers-Briggs personality test but other than that, I have yet to be impressed. But since this month is my birthday month (August babies  rejoice!) I thought it would be fun to see what the stars have lined up for me.

August 20th, 1991

Leo – “Fun, adventurous, genuine, generous and highly charismatic they like to be larger than life and enjoy showing off, being admired, praised and appreciated.” “Outwardly their egos tend to appear to be immune to criticism, while inwardly they are sensitive to criticism from those they respect or care about.”

  • I strongly agree with some of this and not with other parts. I’m definitely an extrovert who’s super sociable and adventurous. I’m not sure I have the biggest ego but I definitely am super sensitive to criticism from people I care about. Probably too sensitive.

Year of the Sheep / Goat / Ram – “…generally believed to be gentle mild-mannered, shy, stable, sympathetic, amicable, and brimming with a strong sense of kindheartedness and justice.” “Though they prefer to be in groups, they do not want to be the center of attention. They are reserved and quiet, most likely because they like spending much time in their thoughts.”

  • Again, agree and disagree. I do not think I am terribly mild-mannered or shy but I know I have a tendency of being really sympathetic with people I love. And I absolutely prefer to be in groups but not the center of attention. One thing I do NOT like doing, however, is spending much time in my own thoughts. I tend to overthink enough already..

Fire Element – “…the life of the party and your natural intensity that compels others to take notice makes you a natural born leader. You follow your gut instinct and become fully committed to what you believe.” “…often unfaithful and will follow any lead to serve your own self-interest.”

  • I disagree with all of this. I do not enjoy being the “life of the party” and I don’t think of myself as a natural born leader. I do generally stick to what I believe but enjoy hearing other’s points of view because I think that blindly following an idea can be dangerous. And if there’s one thing I admire most in a friend it’s loyalty so I take being faithful to my friends extremely seriously.

August 20th – “…enjoy your home and your family,” “…have a tendency to live a certain way and rarely stray from it,” “…are sensitive and can feel the emotions of those who are in pain especially those close to you,” “… no one can be depressed around you as you are fun loving, passionate and have the ability to gain the trust of others quickly, “…can be overly protective,” “… think you have a need to know everything.”

  • There was a lot of information to digest here. I agree that I really enjoy home and my family, extremely dislike change, can be super sensitive to the emotions of those around me but am generally a really positive and light-hearted person in general. I can also be over protective of those I love and probably do think I need to know more than I should…

These descriptions of my personality could’ve been better but also definitely could’ve been worse! I won’t take any of their descriptions too seriously but I always enjoy reading them. I’d love to know if any of their descriptions of your personalities were totally spot on or spot off! (is spot off a thing? oh well)
