My grandmother had the most gorgeous beautiful blue eyes that I had ever seen. My mother followed closely in her footsteps and inherited her crystal blue eyes. And then came me. I inherited brown from my dad… And while I have always been jealous of blue-eyed people, I have learned to accept and even to embrace and enhance my brown eyes through years of practice. One of the most easiest ways to enhance the color of our eyes is through eye shadows so I thought I would share with you some of the shades that I use to do just this. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Warm browns – Adds depth around the eye that evens out the intensity of brown eyes. I think brown eyed people can get away with a little more brown eye shadow that other eye colors cause it won’t drown out the color of our eyes!
Cranberry – Cranberry shades naturally have red undertones like browns so they pair nicely with each other. And since the cranberry is a little bit lighter and warmer they make brown eyes stand out and bring out any green undertones they may have.
Gold – I feel like the majority of people who have brown eyes have hints of yellow running through them and gold eye shadows not only look gorgeous in general but can pick up on these more yellow parts of the eyes and add more dimension to them.
Olive Green with gold – Similar to Cranberry, Army greens all contain brown undertones so they match perfectly with brown eyes. And since the green color will contrast with the warmer reddish undertones of the brown, it will make your eye look more amber toned.
Bronze– Bronze is kind of a shade of brown but enhanced with orangey and gold tones and shimmers so it matches browns and makes them pop against a lighter more shimmery background. And like they have MLBB (My Lips But Better) shades for lips, I think bronze shades are the eye equivalent and make any eyes look like MEBB’s.
