Skincare I’d Like to Try

As I’ve mentioned before, while I love purchasing makeup, I’m horrible when it comes to buying things that actually take care of my face. I really don’t apply anything besides an eye brow pencil, eye liner and mascara to my face on a daily basis and this combined with the fact that I was blessed with pretty good skin, makes me think (probably incorrectly) that I don’t need to spend much to keep my skin looking the way it does. I’ve pretty much stuck with my same routine of using an oil-free makeup remover like the Simple Micellar Water, applying Clinique Dramitically Moisturizing Lotion on my face and CeraVe moisturizer everywhere else and that seems to do the job! I occasionally use an exfoliator like the Neutrogena Long-Lasting Shine Control Daily Scrub but for the most part my skin is pretty low maintenance.

Here’s the thing, since I’ve never tried anything to try to improve my skin, how would if it can get any better! I’ve gone through rough patches with my skin so I know that it could be worse but what if it could also get better? While my skin is in good shape, I do have dry patches and blackheads, nothing major but definitely things that could be improved upon. Here are some products that I have come across over the past couple months that have been highly recommended and make me think twice about saving my money for makeup purchases:

SKINCARE

Boscia Charcoal Deep-Pore Cleansing Stick Treatment // Boscia Luminizing Black Mask // Kate Somerville Nourish Daily Moisturizer // Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturizer // Dr. Jart Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask // Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer // Creme de la Mer Moisturizing Cream (soooo expensive though)

PS. I think any of these would make great holiday gifts for anyone with normal to dry skin!

  1. The Dr. Jart mask is pretty good, but he makes a different one, “Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution,” that is even better, and stays on your face better as well! (http://www.sephora.com/dermask-water-jet-vital-hydra-solution-P397623?skuId=1723881)

I would also try Tony Moly’s sheet masks, particularly the Aloe or Coconut ones. They come in packs of 2 for $7.50 at Sephora, or you can order them in bulk on Amazon! (http://www.sephora.com/i-m-real-aloe-face-mask-sheet-moisturizing-2-pack-P396627?skuId=1705227)

As for moisturizers, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is phenomenal (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=539990&catid=182946&aid=338666&aparam=539990&kpid=539990&CAWELAID=120142990000112485&CAGPSPN=pla&aid=338666&aparam=&scinit1=)
