My ever so lovely friend Anna has agreed to house me for a few days in NYC for a much needed girls weekend (which just so happens to be her birthday too!). As I’m leaving tomorrow midday I’m going to have to pack up my things up tonight. And yes, this does take some planning as I always feel the need to step up my fashion game ever so slightly when I’m in the fashion capital of the US and have an occasion to celebrate. Here are some of my travel essentials for the weekend:
Peep Toed Booties – I love my booties but it’s getting warmer and my toes need some breathing room. Peep toed booties provide the stability and comfort of a boot with the easy-breeziness needed for warmer Spring saunters.
Light Jacket – Duster jackets seem to be making a big scene and I can tell why. I’m not sure I could pull off the knee length ones cause I think they would shorten me quite a bit, but I think this length would work quite nicely!
Cardigan – I definitely have more cardigans in my closet than I know what to do with but they literally go with every outfit so I think they’re justified! With a warm one like this you could wear it on its own or bundle up a little more with your light jacket for city strolls.
Sunglasses – I purchased these guys a little over a year and a half ago and they are still my go-to’s. Aviators are flattering on all face shapes (I’m round) and they are truly timeless.
Flat Walking Shoes – Functional and fashionable! I think my main shopping mission this trip is to a find a pair of sneaks like this cause I do not have any animal print anything currently and that needs to change. And if you’re not into the animal print, I think the pair I posted on my J.Crew post are equally chic and probably a little more versatile.
Concealer – I don’t wear concealer everyday but on the days when I want to look a little more awake the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (I have mine in Custard) works like magic.
Blush/Bronzer – When you’re tight on space a combination blusher/bronzer is the way to go. I have the Nars Blush/Bronzer duo in Orgasm/Laguna and love both these colors.
Lipstick (Nude and Statement) – I think I’m going to go with my MAC Kinda Sexy (my true nude) and MAC Damn Glamourous (a brighter pink red, bordering on cranberry).
Mascara – I’m taking my Maybelline Lash Sensational because it’s honestly the only one I’ve been using for the past two months.
Eyeliner – I’m gonna cheat on this one and bring two because they both have very different purposes. I’m bringing my Maybeline Master Precise Ink Pen for my top lash line and wing and my Maybelline Define-A-Line Eyeliner for my lower lash line, water line and smudging.
Eye Shadow Palette – The Lorac Pro palette will be my weapon of choice for this trip. It has everything for matte, shimmer, neutral and more colorful looks all in one. I have not been able to put this one down since I got it for Christmas this year.
Have any of you used these products before and/or have suggestions for my trip? Thanks for reading!
