Toning and Tuning Up

Ever since graduating high school in 2009, my go-to form of exercise has been running. I run anywhere from 3-9 miles twice a week and, with the addition of Pure Barre classes to my exercise regiment, never get bored with my exercises! This does not mean, however, that I am always happy to get out of my warm, cozy bed in the morning and hit the ground running (literally). It’s time’s like these when a new playlist comes in handy. I’m someone that can’t stand the sound of their own panting during a run so music is essential for me to focus (or zone out depending on the day) and new tunes are always a solid motivation to get me out of the door.

Here are some songs that I’m running to now that might be able to pump you up too!

Good Life by One Republic – Had this one my playlist for a while now, the drum intro at the beginning though!

We Own the Night by Tiesto & Wolfgang Gartner ft. Luciana – The build up in this song gets me to a sprint every time

Bounce by Iggy Azalea – One of her lesser known songs, catchy chorus though!

Come Get it Bae by Pharrell ft. Miley Cyrus – I think the music video to this song got me hooked. The girls in that video can DANCE and I try to channel their inner fierce for this song

Battle Cry by Imagine Dragons – Heard this one for the first time in a Pure Barre class and it is the definition of epic

Shut Up and Dance by Wak the Moon – We need more music like this on the radio because this is just happiness in the form of song and I definitely get a little more pep in my step when this one comes on

I Wanna Get Better by Bleachers – Wasn’t sure about this song at first but the more I listen to it the catchier it gets. This one will definitely be on my list for a while

Outside by Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding – The second Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding song to make my running playlist, you can’t go wrong with a duo like this one
