Post number 2! And the blog is officially up and running. For my first post-first-post (see what I did there) I wanted to share a little bit about myself in the form of some of the things I have been loving this month.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

I had been using the Maybelline’s The Rocket mascara for the past year or so and have really enjoyed it, but on my last biweekly trip to CVS they were completely sold out (or stopped selling them, one or the other). This, however, was a blessing in disguise as it forced me to branch out and purchase this little guy. Wow, I had no idea what I was missing out on. Unlike The Rocket, it has a curved plastic wand which makes application to the inner and outer corners of the eye ten times easier and it stays on all day without flaking. And an extra plus, it washes off super easily in the shower (no scrubbing!), cause let’s face it, some times you just don’t have time to break out the makeup remover prerinse.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

I have always been one to avoid lip balms as it always seems like the more I applied it, the more chapped my lips would get. This, however, did not deter me from exploring the magical world of lipsticks over the past few months and becoming excited about color! On my mouth! My lips were not so enthused. When they started to crack and I was at a loss for lip balm (having never needed it before), I reached in my bag and found this life saver. It has the consistency of vaseline with the grip of traditional lip balm, and it works! Only a couple weeks later did I realize Aquaphor is for SKIN and not lips. Whoops! Am I gonna stop using it for my parched peckers? Nope.

Nest Ocean Mist and Sea Salt Candle

Candles and the ocean are two of my favorite things in the world so when I saw this new scent by Nest on the Sephora website I knew I needed to smell it for myself. When I came across it again in a hole in the wall shop next to my Pure Barre studio not even a week later, I was not disappointed. It smells like a sweet mixture of sand and sunscreen which together create an image in my head of a perfect summer day at the beach. I’m usually not a sucker for sweet scents either but this one is definitely an exception.

I’d love to know what you think of these products and which ones you’d like me to check out for future posts!

Have a happy Tuesday night!

  2. Have you ever smelled Sun & Sand by Yankee Candle? If so, how does the Nest candle compare? I’ve never used Nest fragrances but they are so beautiful to look at, and would look so chic in my home!

    1. I haven’t smelled that one yet but I’ve definitely been meaning too! And yeah the Nest scents are really cute and honestly I don’t even need to light mine all the time to smell it.
